CAMPAIGN CHRONICLES – June 2025:
Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Saint Carlos Acutis Chapel

St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STA) broke ground on its most significant capital project: the construction of the Saint Carlo Acutis Chapel, envisioned as the spiritual heart of the campus.

The ceremony brought together Bishop Peter A. Libasci, Father Andrew Nelson, S.T.L., members of the Diocese of Manchester, and the entire STA community, including trustees, donors, faculty, staff, students, and families.

Named in honor of Saint Carlo Acutis—the first Millennial Saint—the chapel is intended to provide a dedicated space for Mass, adoration, prayer, and spiritual growth. Known for using technology to share Eucharistic miracles, Saint Carlo’s life and witness hold particular meaning for today’s students.

Rooted in a mission that has guided the school since 1960, the chapel stands as a visible expression of STA’s commitment to forming students academically, spiritually, and socially. It is intended to inspire deeper faith, serve as a gathering place for worship, and act as a beacon for generations to come.

The $5 million project also includes a campus ministry center, a new main entrance, and updated administrative offices as part of the Building on Faith Capital Campaign—the largest in the school’s history.

Building on years of campus enhancements, the project reflects the STA community’s continued dedication to strengthening both its facilities and its faith, ensuring a lasting legacy for future students.
