Get to know Ms. Leighton:

Ms. Leighton has been involved in sports/emergency medicine since 2005. She began her career as an EMT with a volunteer fire department back in high school and spent nearly 10 years in emergency medicine.

As the STA Athletic Trainer, Ashley primarily works with the athletic department. However, she works closely with the school nurse to provide the best medical care possible for the STA community.

Get to know Mr. Marquis:

As President, Paul serves as the Chief Academic Officer and directly oversees all matters of the faculty, curriculum, student development and scheduling of the School.

Paul joined the St. Thomas Aquinas Chemistry and Physics faculty in 2016 and was named Principal in 2020. He most recently was appointed President in 2022. Mr. Marquis is a dynamic leader who, in his many varied roles, responsibilities, and experiences, is well-known for creating a culture of respect among students, families, and communities. He has over 25 years of teaching experience and has held positions in Maine and New Hampshire.

Also a highly acclaimed former high school coach, Paul has earned over 200 victories in basketball and 100 wins in soccer. He also has successful coaching experiences in baseball, softball and tennis. He guided his teams to state, regional and conference championships along with numerous sportsmanship awards.

Along with noted achievements in bringing innovative new technology into the classroom, Paul has served in the Knights of Columbus as a Deputy Grand Knight and Treasurer.

Paul holds his academic degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maine, also attending Campbell University and the University of South Carolina.

Get to know Mr. Morissette:

Before assuming his current position, he spent 18 years at Rivier University in Nashua, NH. He held the positions of Assistant Athletic Director, Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Head Softball Coach, and Head Cross Country Coach. Prior, David was the Assistant Athletic Director, Men’s Basketball Coach, and Head Softball Coach at Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH while also briefly serving as the Director of Athletics.

As a long term official, David has been a part of the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA), the New Hampshire Lacrosse Officials Association (NHLOA) and the New Hampshire Board 32 IAABO Basketball Officials group.

He resides in Exeter, NH with his wife Kristen with sons Cody and Joshua.

Get to know Dr. Schneider:

As the Director of School Counseling, Dr. Schneider provides direct service to students, oversees the counseling department, provides administrative support related to social-emotional health and community issues, and consults with academic departments and campus ministry around program development.

Julie joined the St. Thomas Aquinas Counseling Department faculty in 2021 and was named Chair of the Department in 2022.  A Licensed Psychologist, she has over 25 years of experience working in a variety of mental health and educational settings in Massachusetts, Oregon, and New Hampshire. She has worked in direct service and administration in hospitals and mental health clinics, in both public and private schools, and in corrections. 

She enjoys reading, skiing, and going to the beach. She, her husband Eric, and two daughters live in York, Maine.
