Scholarship Opportunities
We are excited to announce that 17 scholarships are available this year! Applications are now open and must be submitted online by Sunday, January 11th at 11:59 PM.

Awarded to one or more students with a demonstrated financial need and a demonstrated interest in History, Engineering, or Military-related subjects. Additional requirement:
Submission of a statement in which the applicant provides a brief explanation to support his or her interest in the specified subject matters, along with examples of the applicant’s past and/or current participation in activities that demonstrate a love of History, Engineering, or the Military.
The purpose of this Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships to students who are parishioners of Parish of the Assumption in Dover, NH. These Scholarships will be based on merit and need for tuition assistance for attendance at St Thomas Aquinas High School.
Awarded to an incoming or current STA student who values and embraces a Catholic school education. Applicant must have financial need. Additional requirement:
Student will need to submit an essay on “How this scholarship will help his or her family.”
Captain Jack T Casey, USMC was a CH53E helicopter pilot who was killed, along with four other Marines, in a helicopter crash on February 7, 2024. Jack was born and raised in Dover, NH, attended St Mary Academy, St Thomas Aquinas High School, and graduated from Virginia Military Institute with a degree in Physics in May 2019.
Throughout his life, Jack had a positive impact on so many, with his light humor, leadership, and willingness to help others in any way he could. His unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
The scholarship was established to ensure Jack’s legacy of kindness and leadership continue to positively influence future generations.
Application Requirements
- High School Senior at St Thomas Aquinas High School or Dover High School
- Cadet accepted to or attending Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA
- Attending an accredited community college majoring in Aviation Technology
- Be declared in STEM major
- Completed application submitted by (Jack’s Birthday) April 19, 2026
- Signed letter of recommendation from non-family members. Please have recommendation emailed to jtcscholarship419@gmail.com and be sure to put applicants name in subject line
Awarded to a student who has demonstrated financial need and proven academic performance.
Applicant must be a rising junior or senior female student who plays two sports and excels in math. Applicants must meet the financial aid requirements. Additional requirement:
Submit a letter of recommendation from a St. Thomas Aquinas faculty member. The faculty member should then email or deliver the recommendation directly to Mrs. Bolduc at sbolduc@stalux.org.
Awarded to financially needy students with an interest in math, science, or history. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded individual with a curious mind and demonstrated involvement in the STA extra-curricular community.

Awarded to an incoming 9th-grade student and will follow the student for four years provided the student meets the financial qualifications established by St. Thomas Aquinas. Additional requirements:
Possesses qualities of leadership and strong character. Explain in essay.
Awarded to at least one student in each of the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Additional requirements:
- Demonstrate a serious attitude toward his/her education. Explain in essay.
- Embrace the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Explain in essay.
- Provide a written recommendation from a current faculty member.
Awarded to a senior class member based on need. Additional requirement:
Describe what you will do to make the world a better place. Explain in essay.
This scholarship is for students who demonstrate financial need beyond the set cap for grants. Additional requirement:
Student needs to possess a great sense of humor, an attitude of fair-mindedness, giving of self with no strings attached, and a love for the outdoors. Explain in essay.
Awarded to a Catholic, public, or home-schooled student who resides in the city of Dover and has demonstrated financial need.
Applicant must have a financial need. Additional requirement:
Awarded to a student who anticipates further education in elementary or secondary education. Explain in essay.
Awarded to a student who is serious about furthering his or her education, and who has shown qualities of leadership and strong character. A letter from the student stating reasons why they should be considered for this award must accompany the application.
Awarded to a student from the Parish of the Ascension of the Lord or a student who is a resident of South Berwick. Should there be no applicants from the specified area, any student will be considered for the award, as deemed eligibly appropriate by the school.
Awarded to a student who resides in Dover or Somersworth and who has demonstrated a financial need.
