SAINTS Block

SAINTS BLOCK

More than a schedule, Saints Block is where our community comes together to build belonging, strengthen character, and bring the mission of St. Thomas Aquinas High School to life.

One Rhythm. One Community. One Mission.

SAINTS BLOCK is the heartbeat of student life at STA. More than a scheduled period, it is a purposeful weekly rhythm that brings our mission to life by creating intentional opportunities for every student to gather, connect, lead, pray, and belong.

Each day has a distinct purpose, together creating a comprehensive student life program that forms students intellectually, spiritually, socially, and personally.

MEETUP MONDAY

Meetups bring the entire school community together to launch the week with energy, celebration, and shared purpose. Held in the gym, it strengthens school culture by recognizing achievement, sharing important updates, and reinforcing our mission as one community.

From inspiring speakers to student showcases, Meetups feature guest speakers, student performances, academic and creative showcases, awards, competitions, and interactive games that celebrate student life, inspire excellence, and build lasting school spirit.

TEAM TUESDAY

Students are placed into a small advisory community that remains together with the same faculty advisor and classmates throughout all four years of high school.

This consistent home base fosters meaningful relationships, encourages personal growth, and ensures that every student is known and supported.

Team Tuesday includes advisory discussions, team-building activities, school-wide initiatives, safety drills, academic planning, test registrations, and other grade-level programs that equip students with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to thrive as members of the STA community.

WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY

Workshop Wednesday begins with a 9:00 a.m. class start, creating intentional time each week for faculty collaboration and professional formation while student leaders gather through organizations such as the Board of Programmers, Student Congress, and National Honor Society.

The flexible schedule also provides opportunities for guest speakers, special programs, and other experiences that enrich the life of our community.

MISSION THURSDAY

Regardless of faith tradition or religious practice, every student is invited to encounter the love and goodness of God. At St. Thomas Aquinas, every student is invited to find a spiritual home.

Throughout the year, Mission Thursday also provides dedicated time for concerts, musicals, cultural programs, special celebrations, service initiatives, school-wide campaigns, and other experiences that enrich the life of our community.

Rooted in our Catholic identity, Mission Thursday brings the entire school community together for Holy Mass and prayer. This sacred time of worship nurtures our students’ spiritual formation and reinforces that faith is at the heart of our school’s life.

CLUB FRIDAY

Students have enjoyed a wide variety of clubs, including: Intramural Sports, Chess Club, Robotics Club, Improv Comedy Club, Fishing Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, Cooking Club, Investment & Personal Finance Club, Photography & Media Club, Spirit Club, Mock Trial, Ski & Snowboard Club, Environmental Club, Service & Community Outreach Club, and Pick-Up Sports Club.

Club fairs are held at the beginning and middle of the semester, after which each club meets six times, with teachers running the same club twice to accommodate different grade levels—freshmen and sophomores in one session, juniors and seniors in another. This ensures every student has access to a range of opportunities.

LASTING IMPACT

SAINTS BLOCK prepares students for life beyond graduation by cultivating character, deepening faith, building lasting friendships, and creating the experiences and memories that define a loving community.
