“The world is hugged by the faithful arms of volunteers.” –Terri Guillemets
Each year, we are grateful for the many parents in our STA community who help us with various events, activities and efforts. Below are brief descriptions of volunteer opportunities for the upcoming school year. We hope you will consider choosing to participate in an area that suits your availability and interest. If you are interested in a certain area (or areas), please complete the Parent Volunteer form and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Community Events- Throughout the year, STA holds various events that help our community bond and flourish from the inside out.
Light Secretarial Duties- On an occasional basis, STA seeks adults willing to perform light secretarial duties and/or cover the Main Office when a staff member is out.
Athletics: Help at athletic games (tickets, concession stand, “the Holy Grill”) and events.
Golf Tournament: Help us facilitate a fun-filled day on the links as we host the 2022 STA Golf Open! This year's event is Tuesday, October 4 at the beautiful Wentworth By The Sea Country Club.
Faculty-Staff Appreciation Events- Parental gifts of time and talent are especially appreciated in showing gratitude and acknowledgment to our faculty and staff.
Facilities/Gardening- Our Facilities crew always welcomes contributions to our gardening efforts as well as help with set up and break-down before/after school events, and campus painting projects.
Admission/Marketing- Serve as adjunct Admission Team Members! Help distribute STA admissions/marketing materials to local real estate offices, area businesses, dental offices, churches, etc.
Campus Ministry- Adult participants are sought to help with this year’s Campus Ministry events.
Public Relations- We are always seeking Parent Ambassadors who are willing to present and represent STA at admission events as well as various community/parish/town events.
Prom- Parents of juniors are invited to help plan and decorate for the Grand March and the prom venue.
Last Blast- A safe, chemical-free final event for senior students, “Last Blast” requires parents of seniors to serve as volunteers in various capacities (chairperson, bus chaperones, decorating, site hosts, etc.).
Fundraising/Development (including Aquinas Fund) - The Aquinas Fund (the school's annual fund) is the main source of fundraising at St. Thomas Aquinas. Our school relies on the annual fund to balance the operating budget. St. Thomas Aquinas does not receive funding from the Diocese. Participation in the Aquinas Fund by our entire school community is the key to our success.
