2022 Freshmen Jumpstart/Orientation Program
Tuesday, August 23 and Wednesday, August 24, 9:00 am - 1:30 pm
Arrival: Students should arrive between 8:45 - 9:00 am each day. Drop-off is facilitated at the circle at the back of the school. Students will be directed to the new stadium bleachers (weather permitting) each morning to begin our day outdoors.
Laptop: Students should bring a laptop for both days.
Dress Code: Our two-day program serves as a "dress rehearsal" allowing students to experience dress code and dress down days.
- Wednesday: Dress down (modest and casual such as t-shirt, shorts); closed-toed shoes recommended.
- Thursday: Full dress code (click here for more information on STA dress code).
Lunch: Students may bring their own lunch or they may purchase lunch from Chartwells Dining. Please click here for more information on our lunch program. If students plan to buy lunch, money should be added to their account beforehand. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, cash transactions are not allowed. Information regarding how to set up their account (i.e., Student #) will be coming soon. All students MUST bring a refillable water bottle.
Departure: Students will be dismissed at 1:30pm. Parents should park in one of the lots adjacent to the drop-off circle and wait for students to come out. Please do not park in a handicap space unless your child has difficulty walking.
If you have questions or concerns about the Freshmen Jumpstart/Orientation Program, please contact Mr. Adams at kadams@stalux.org.
DROP-OFF PROCEDURE
Welcome to another school year! Our goal is to promote a safe, efficient method of dropping off and picking up your student(s). Therefore, we would like to make you aware of our student drop-off and pick-up procedures.
MORNING: When arriving to school in the morning, please proceed to the back of the building and keep right to utilize the two lanes by the flag pole. Both lanes can be used for drop-off. This will help in reducing a traffic backup. Please do not stop in front of the school or near the fountain to drop your student(s) off.
PICK UP PROCEDURE
AFTERNOON: When arriving to school to pick-up your student(s) at dismissal time, please DO NOT use the two lanes by the flag pole (marked by the red x’s). Instead, please turn left, as indicated by the arrows, and park in any of the open spaces in the parking lot to wait for your student(s). We have found this to be the most efficient method without causing a traffic back up to Dover Point Road.
