STA Welcomes a New Admissions Director

Dear Members of the St. Thomas Aquinas High School Community,

We are pleased to announce that St. Thomas Aquinas High School has named Danny Richer, Ed.D as Director of Admissions. Dr. Richer’s appointment will be effective January 21, 2020.

To capitalize on STA’s 2019-20 enrollment momentum and build upon the good work of the Associate Directors, Mrs. Lisa Puffer PP ’09, ’11, '13, '15 and Mrs. Emma Gonya (née Wilson), the incoming Head of School, Mr. Dan S. Soller, has hired an individual with tremendous experience in the fields of enrollment, marketing, and admissions, who will help strategically guide and lead these efforts under one dynamic umbrella.

A vibrant Catholic, Dr. Richer is very proud of the education he received from the Xaverian Brothers at Saint John’s High School in Shewsbury, MA, the Dominican Friars at Providence College (B.A.), and the Jesuits at the University of San Francisco (M.A.). Dr. Richer also earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership & Higher Education from the University of Nebraska in 2018.

Over his 20-year career, Dr. Richer has served in recruitment and admission leadership roles at Providence College, St. Anselm College, Northern Essex Community College and the University of New Hampshire. At each institution he was responsible for advancing comprehensive and successful enrollment management strategies.

Additionally, Dr. Richer brings with him a great deal of knowledge regarding the college selection process and he is eager to use his connections and research to help St. Thomas students enroll in their top choice institutions.

“I really enjoy the high school age group. Their energy, growth and life discernment decisions during the high school years are tremendous. With almost twenty years’ experience in higher education where I worked with high school students on admissions, I feel well positioned to leverage my experiences and relationships in the St. Thomas environment to further elevate the profile of this great high school to colleges and universities. St. Thomas Aquinas’ mission, vision, values and outcomes are inspiring and I look forward to promoting them across the entire seacoast of New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. Mr. Soller said it perfectly and I fully embrace his statement that “Excellence honors God and inspires people.’”

A native of Massachusetts, Dr. Richer now lives in Dover, NH with his wife April and their two children. The Richers are parishioners of Dover’s Parish of the Assumption.

Please join us in extending a warm and inviting welcome to Dr. Danny Richer as he joins the St. Thomas Aquinas family!
