St. Thomas Aquinas is proud to announce Carson Cross as its new Head Baseball Coach. Carson is a 2010 Exeter High School graduate and a former UCONN Baseball Star graduating in 2015.
Carson was drafted in the 14th round of the MLB draft in 2015 by the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also selected in the 24th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2013 before deciding on finishing his career at UCONN. Carson played a couple years of minor league baseball before deciding coaching was his calling.
The Milwaukee Brewers hired Cross as their pitching and Developmental Coach in 2019. He has spent the last three years at various levels in the organization while running a very successful developmental baseball program in the offseason in Exeter. He is the owner of 603Evo baseball facility which has trained many current college players, high school and younger players.
“Accepting the responsibility of Varsity Baseball Coach at Saint Thomas is about more than a love for the sport," said Cross. It’s about building upon a tradition of excellence to foster a competitive yet supportive environment where all players have the opportunity to grow. I look forward to developing a team of exceptional student athletes who bring humility, integrity, and resilience to the field, their community, and beyond.”
St. Thomas Aquinas Director of Athletics Dave Morissette is excited to welcome Cross into the STA community. “I am excited to add Carson Cross to the Saint Thomas Community. Carson’s philosophy on and off the field is a perfect fit for St. Thomas in its mission and values. The Saints have a strong and long tradition of excellence in baseball and there is no doubt Carson will continue these standards. We are excited to see him here developing our student-athletes.”
