Presidential Recognition

Principal Collins and Sr. Maximilian Cote present Olivia with the President's Volunteer Service Award

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. Created in 1995 by Prudential and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the program honors middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level.

Olivia Fennessy ’20 has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Award as part of the 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award program. Olivia was recognized for her countless hours of dedication and selfless service to St. Charles Children’s Home in Rochester.

“The recipients of these awards demonstrate that young people across America are making remarkable contributions to the health and vitality of their communities,” said John Strangefeld, chairman and CEO of Prudential Financial. “By recognizing these students and placing a spotlight on their volunteer activities, we hope to motivate others to consider how they can also contribute to their community.”

Olivia is definitely an inspiration to others, both in her peer group and those older and younger than she. There is no doubt that she will continue to make the world a better place.
