Maggie Mae Cove Hamel '22 is participating in the FBLA SLC's Public Speaking Competition today and tomorrow.

The flagship event for local NH Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members is the State Leadership Conference.  The conference runs today and tomorrow in Manchester and members compete in various events, engage in business-related workshops, listen to distinguished speakers and run for/elect state officers.

Representing the newly formed St. Thomas Aquinas FBLA Chapter is Freshman Saint, Margaret Mary (Maggie Mae) Cove Hamel. Maggie Mae initiated the chapter this past fall and has been preparing for a long time to compete in Public Speaking at this week’s competition.

Maggie Mae’s speech is on “Confidence” and her very words depict both her passion for and her commitment to this topic. “By its very nature, self-confidence is confidence in one’s self,” she will state today to a panel of judges. “Through rigorous academic competition and networking through peers, Future Business Leaders of America is giving teens the key preparation to inherit their world, create change, and leave their mark on today’s political, medical, and business world. America’s student population will succeed if they are confident in their knowledge and prepare themselves mentally and emotionally for independence.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.  Good luck today and tomorrow, Maggie Mae!  We are thinking of you and we thank you for representing St. Thomas Aquinas High School so well in all ways.  Saints Pride!
