Building on Faith Capital Campaign
Transforming Lives, Shaping Futures
We are thrilled to announce the Building on Faith Capital Campaign, the largest capital improvement project in STA’s 60-year history. This campaign strengthens our Catholic faith, which has been at the heart of our school since opening in 1960. Our faith has kept us focused on our mission and has guided our students on their academic, social, and spiritual journeys.
Over the past five years, STA has made significant campus upgrades, including a new stadium, safety enhancements, and renovations to 80,000 square feet of academic space. We have also made renovations to our gymnasium, including central air conditioning, new bleachers, a state of the art sound system, and a new mezzanine space for music students.
Now, we are focused on building the heart of our school: a new full-sized chapel named after Blessed Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint and patron saint of the internet. This project also includes a new school entrance, campus ministry center, student flex space, and administrative offices.
Thanks to a $2.5 million challenge match, every gift will be matched–dollar for dollar–up to $2.5 million, providing the funding to complete the project.
We invite you to join us in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a space that honors God and unites our whole school community.
Blessed Carlo Acutis Chapel
A sacred space for generations to come

We are honored to introduce the new Blessed Carlo Acutis Chapel – a transformative addition that will meet our school’s long-standing need for a dedicated sacred space. This chapel will serve as the heart of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, placing our Catholic faith at the forefront. While our current chapel, Our Lady of the Angels, offers a quaint and reverent setting for about 30 individuals, it cannot accommodate whole-school liturgies and prayer services. The new chapel will welcome our entire student body, providing a sacred venue for both intimate reflections and larger, school-wide celebrations.
A Glimpse Inside:
The Design

Traditional Design
The chapel will feature a blend of traditional design elements with clean lines, capturing natural light to create a welcoming, sacred space.
Art, Symbolism, and Bell Toll
Stained glass windows, a beautiful altar, and other religious artwork will adorn the chapel, creating a visually rich environment. A working bell will also signal the time for worshippers to gather.

Blessed Carlo Acutis
May 3, 1991 – October 12, 2006
“To always be close to Jesus, that’s my life’s plan.”
Acutis is expected to be the first saint of the Millennial generation. Born in 1991, he was an Italian website designer and computer programmer. Like many of his peers, he enjoyed soccer, video games, detective shows, and animals.
Acutis taught himself computer programming and animation. He desired to bring people back to the Church and other sacraments and had a fervent devotion to the Eucharist and the Virgin Mary. Known as “God’s influencer,” Acutis created a website to catalog eucharistic miracles and cataloged more than 150 miracles, listed by country and date in nearly 20 different languages. This website was a helpful tool for parishes around the world and served as an example of how the internet could help spread the Gospel.
Acutis died of leukemia at the young age of 15. His mother has said that God chose Carlo to be “an example for the young people of this period in history.” Indeed, he serves as a role model for the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and how to use the internet.
