STA Band Rocks Great East Festivals
May 16, 2008Great East Festivals is an organization that provides music programs with the opportunity to receive professional feedback on the quality of a group's musical performance. This morning, judges or, more correctly, "adjudicators" from Great East were here at St. Thomas bright and early to hear our band and chorus programs perform. According to the results, our band and chorus programs are doing very well indeed.
Groups are judged on things including, style, expression, technical aspects in the music, and overall presentation. Based on how the judges feel they did, they receive awards accordingly. The awards range from bronze to platinum. This year the Chorus and Jazz Band received silver and Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorus, Jazz Choir, Select Choir, Tower of Power, and Band all received received gold!
