A Very Special Mass
May 2, 2008The last all-school mass of the school year was held in the gym yesterday, and as part of it, two very important people in the STA family were honored. Sister Georganne Pearson was recognized by Mr. Quinn as celebrating her 60th year as a School Sister of Notre Dame. Sister Georganne is well known to all of St. Thomas' alums, as she has worked at our school since the second year it was open.
Also recognized was Sister Catherine Goodell, who this year marks her 30th year at St. Thomas, and who has announced that at the end of the year she will retire after 70 years of working as an educator. Sister Catherine, in addition to her years at St. Thomas, spent time teaching at schools in Philadelphia and Georgia. As those who know Sister Catherine surely agree, we are, like the countless students whose lives she has enriched with her presence, fortunate to have had her at our school all these years.
