April 12, 2008The Saints lacrosse team began the 2008 season with an 8-7 win over Division 2 rival Oyster River.
T Kane had 3 goals, Joe Gardiner 2, while Brian Corain and Peter Schwaegerle had a goal and an assist. Mike Farnham accounted for the 8th goal.
"Defense was the key in this one", said assistant coach Dan Pearl. "The defense came up big when it needed to and they are only getting better".
That defense, led by Matt Janetos, Zach Merrigan, Myles Meserve and Maxx Connolly welcomed newcomers Jack Pearl, Joe Arcieri and Jack MacNevin. Evan Simone notched the win with 13 saves.
The Saints play Bishop Brady at home on Tuesday.
