Boys Soccer STAys Unbeaten
September 20, 2008The St. Thomas Aquinas High School boys soccer team needed a little extra to pull out its seventh win in seven tries Friday. The Saints edged Monadnock, 2-1, in a Class I game played at a small recreation field in Troy as the Monadnock fields are under water.
STA (7-0) received two goals from Byron Greenwood, both in the second half. Greenwood gave the Saints a 1-0 lead on an assist from Doug Crow. The Huskies (3-4) tied the game and then Greenwood won it with six minutes to play, with Ross Suleski assisting. STA outshot Monadnock, 26-4, hit two posts and had an apparent goal called back at the end of the first half. Ken Grade made three saves in goal.
