Dr. Susan Pike joins the St. Thomas faculty in 2007, bringing a wealth of experience in research and broad experience in education. Dr. Pike has spent the past three years teaching Biology and Environmental Science at York County Community College and the University of New England. She earned her B.A. in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire, and her Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Oregon, researching the development of the nervous system in vertebrates. After earning her Ph.D., Dr. Pike researched neurophysiology at Stanford University before returning to the Northeast to serve as Education Coordinator for the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. In her spare time, Dr. Pike enjoys birdwatching, bicycle touring, ponding, hiking, cross-country skiing, and kayaking
