Guidance
GUIDANCE: Attention Seniors: College reps visiting this week are: Wednesday, WPI 8 am, Bridgton Academy 9:45, Villanova 12pm, St. Anselm 1:45pm; Thursday, Air Force Academy 8:30, Loyola Maryland 11am; and on Friday, Catholic U. at 1 pm. Do not forget to pick up your Permission to Miss Class form in guidance.
Two scholarships are available in guidance at this time: Coca-Cola for any senior with a 3.0 gpa or higher and the SAE Engineering Scholarship for any student interested in engineering or a related science major.

Sports
A reminder to all fall sports team captains, freshmen to varsity, the next meeting of the Captains Council with Mr. Leary, will be held this Wednesday morning, October 8, at 7am in the multi-purpose room, breakfast will be served beginning at 6:45 for those arriving early.
Girls volleyball will play Portsmouth High School tonight in the gym at 5pm.
STA varsity golfers Jonny Hayes and Tyler Couett represented our school in fine fashion Saturday as they both qualified and competed for the Class I individual state championship at White Mountain Country Club. Hayes finished in 5th place, while Couett was 6th. With over 140 golfers participating last week, this was a very impressive feat. Congratulations to both young men for a wonderful tournament!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Aspiring Writers throughout the STA Community: the Lit Club is being reborn, experiencing a veritable renaissance, actually having meetings! And the first one is honestly and truly TODAY at 2:45 in Room 104 with Mr. Campbell and Dr. Harkness as alleged moderators. So come on down so we can talk about writing sonnets, short stories and maybe some vignettes, which are just the perfect dressings for the literary salads we will be creating. Lets maybe put some structure on the texture of the Lit Club.
The ITT Club (Improving Today for Tomorrow) will have its first meeting next Tuesday, the 7th, after school in room 105B. The meeting will begin at 2:45 and end by 3:15. New members are welcome.
Attention Yearbook staff: there will be important work sessions Tuesday and Wednesday in Room 205 (Mrs. Pike's Room) to begin working on the Yearbook.
Tomorrow afternoon, Ms. Beth Fischer from The Stratford County Democratic will be meeting with students about being involved in the political process regardless of your party affiliation.
History Club, Political Club, and all interested students are invited. 2:35 in room 304.
The Environmental Club will meet Wednesday morning, before school, in Room 403. There will be a hike up Mount Cochorua on November 8th sponsored by the Environmental Club. Space is limited. Sign up sheet and permission slips available in room 403.

Miscellaneous
A big thank you to the large group of Student Ambassadors and parents who participated in Apple Harvest Day in Dover on Saturday. It was great for St. Thomas to have such an awesome presence at this community festival. Thanks again!
