Admissions Criteria

The eight-person St. Thomas Admissions Committee carefully weighs and discusses each application we receive. The Committee consists of faculty members, guidance counselors and administrators. Those Committee members seek to find students who best fit the mission of St. Thomas Aquinas.

If one qualification weighs most heavily in the admissions decision, it is a student’s desire to become a part of the St. Thomas community. We seek students who want to be a part of a Catholic, college-preparatory school, and who will make contributions in many areas of St. Thomas life: academics, service, athletics, the arts, leadership etc.

The Admissions Committee considers a student’s academic aptitude based on previous grades, teacher recommendations and standardized test scores. But being a high academic achiever does not guarantee one admission into STA. The St. Thomas student is one fully invested in his/her education, willing and excited to be a part of a vibrant, active community of learners.
