World Languages

MISSION STATEMENT Through the study of World Languages, students will become knowledgeable, confident, and effective communicators; insightful about themselves and their learning; open-minded and empathetic toward all peoples and cultures; prepared to participate in multilingual communities; and motivated to serve at home and around the world.

HONORS PROGRAM Students enrolling in the honors classes in World Languages perform at a higher level. Their recall of the subject area enables them to continue to learn at a more rapid rate. Their willingness to communicate in the target language as well as their curiosity to learn about the culture is very evident. Self motivation, responsibility for learning, critical thinking and willingness to find the answers are true characteristics of an honors level student. An honors level student has an evident joy in using the language and is typically motivated to continue studying a language after high school.
