Ninth Grade Seminar

Guiding the student to a fuller awareness of self-identity is the goal of the Ninth Grade Seminar course. This will be achieved with four interdisciplinary courses focusing on the following: the study of political and historical events and their geographic areas; the investigation of healthy and moral living; the research of diverse cultures and their effects on societies and ideas of today; and the development of skills in technology and an awareness of the application of technology in the St. Thomas curriculum.

Students are encouraged to form opinions and become knowledgeable of fundamental facts and theories. Ideas are explored through class participation, written expression, and projects.

The Ninth Grade Seminar proposes to help students to live morally and become informed, contributing citizens in today’s world. Ninth Grade Seminar teachers communicate regularly in order to best serve the students and make the overall course interdisciplinary in nature.
