Principal's Message

Greetings,

St. Thomas Aquinas High School is a diocesan Catholic high school that has committed itself to encouraging the dreams, molding the character and fostering the educational, social and spiritual growth of our students so that they may become leaders of high moral standing. Since St. Thomas' doors opened in 1960, we have always pursued this noble path in the Catholic tradition. This tradition is growing because of our continued priority to provide the best that Catholic education has to offer.

Conscious of reaching the hallmark of our fortieth year, we took some time to reflect on the mission of our school. We engaged many in the conversation around our essential mission as a Catholic high school in the seacoast of New Hampshire. We enjoy quite a favorable reputation, and for good reason. This status has grown out of our mission to transform our students in a special way so that, in turn, they will transform their world beyond the walls of St. Thomas.

Certainly, a central aspect of the mission of St. Thomas is to provide a challenging academic program that sets a standard in the seacoast. Our students are engaged in the learning process, they are challenged by the high standards offered by the school and they are well prepared for the future. Graduates attest to the excellent preparation that they have received. Our goal to prepare each of our students for college is consistently reached by our dedicated faculty…a faculty committed to excellence.

The creation of a school community is essential to our mission as well. The spirit of acceptance among our students is exceptional. Students feel comfortable being leaders to their peers. Each student is encouraged to try new experiences, develop new skills and discover new talents. This can only be done in an atmosphere that provides opportunities for each student and welcomes their participation. The large number of students involved in our extensive and diverse programs evidences the success of our school community.

A key component of our mission is to place a priority on the practice of Christian service. That is the challenge of the Gospel and it becomes our particular mission to train our students in varied forms of service. We are proud to note that a recent survey of community service offered by our students testifies to many thousands of hours that are contributed annually in the seacoast area. Service is a constant theme at this school.

So we are about transformation. Our students are different people as they graduate from our school for we are confident in our mission. I invite you to reflect on our Mission Statement and be proud of your connection to a school that offers the best that Catholic education can provide.

If this website is your first introduction to St. Thomas I am pleased to welcome you! I am hopeful that you will find throughout its various features evidence of a vibrant, active school that provides quality Catholic education for each of our students. If you are already a member of the school community, past or present, I know you will find many features that will help you gain information on the current activities in the school. Our goal is to make this site a very useful interactive site for our students as well as for the casual visitor. Connect with us often as new features are added. Enjoy your visit!
